I’m very confused about my case. My I-485 was denied, so my attorney filed an I-290B Motion to Reopen/Reconsider. The I-290B case status now shows “Case Administratively Closed,” and USCIS uploaded a document titled “Admin Closed.pdf.” However, the document does not explain why the motion was administratively closed. It only states that USCIS determined a refund of the I-290B filing fee was appropriate and that the refund had been initiated. My I-485 still shows “Case Was Denied,” and I have not received a separate notice confirming that it has been reopened. Has anyone experienced a similar situation where an I-290B was administratively closed and the filing fee was refunded, but the closure notice provided no explanation? Did USCIS later reopen the underlying I-485 or send a separate notice?
