    The Field Service Technician is responsible for delivering on-site technical support, including troubleshooting, inspection, repair, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical rotating equipment.     Key Responsibilities

    • Perform field diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of Low and Medium Voltage AC/DC motors, Generators and alternators, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), soft starters, and motor control panels.
    • Conduct comprehensive equipment inspections, including bearing condition evaluation, air-gap measurements, vibration monitoring, insulation and winding assessments.
    • Carry out electrical and mechanical testing such as IR/PI, surge, Hi-Pot, and winding resistance tests.
    • Install, align, and commission motors, generators, and associated control systems.
    • Respond promptly to emergency breakdown calls and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
    • Prepare detailed service reports covering observations and findings, test results and measurements, and photographic evidence.

    Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical Technology.
    • 3–7 years of experience in service of motors, alternators, and controls.
    • Experience in Oil & Gas, marine, utilities, or heavy industry preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical rotating machinery, including LV/MV motors and generators.
    • Hands-on experience with diagnostic and testing equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
