Job Overview
Joslyn Law Firm, one of Ohio’s most recognized criminal defense law firms, is seeking a motivated Legal Intern to join its Columbus office.
As a Legal Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in criminal defense by assisting attorneys and paralegals with legal research, drafting documents, preparing for trials, and supporting clients. This role provides valuable exposure to courtroom proceedings and real-world case management in a fast-paced legal environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis for ongoing cases.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and contracts.
- Assist with discovery processes and trial preparation.
- Attend court hearings, trials, and depositions.
- Provide support to attorneys and clients.
- Maintain legal files, databases, and documentation.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, answering calls, and processing payments.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a law program (JD, LLB, or related).
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Interest in criminal defense law is strongly preferred.
