Job Overview
The Public Defence Service (PDS) in Wellington is looking for an enthusiastic Legal Support Assistant to join their support team. Job Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain client files and collate legal documents
- Process client disclosures and case-related paperwork
- Assist regional offices with administrative and legal support
- Perform general office administration tasks including data entry, correspondence, and filing
- Support legal secretaries and lawyers in day-to-day case management
Requirements
- Prior office administration or customer service experience (1–2 years preferred)
- Strong computer literacy and fast, accurate typing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy, team-based environment
- Interest in legal and justice sector work
