Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine tests according to professional standards and guidelines.
- Monitor sample management, including sorting and allocation based on testing requirements.
- Process clinical chemistry, immunology and serology, autoimmune, haematology, coagulation, blood transfusion and clinical microscopy tests and related laboratory functions.
- Conduct analysis of body fluids, blood specimens, urine and spinal fluid.
- Result analysis and verification of accuracy of findings.
- Contribute to relevant quality improvement initiatives aimed at mitigating risks, compliance governance and increased patient safety.
Requirements
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences or a related field is required.
- At least 3-5 years’ full time experience as a medical laboratory technologist in clinical chemistry is required.
- Correct maintenance of instrumentation according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office).
- Knowledge of real time multiplex PCR and close molecular systems.
- Knowledgeable in laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and instrumentation troubleshooting.
