Job Overview
UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina is hiring a Project Assistant for its Energy and Environment Sector in Sarajevo. The position supports implementation of the project “Strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Climate Action through Development of NDC 3.0 and Operationalization of the Environmental Information System.” The role involves providing technical, administrative, and logistical support to ensure effective project delivery in collaboration with national institutions and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in technical, operational, and administrative tasks for project implementation.
- Support planning, organization, and coordination of project activities, meetings, and stakeholder communication.
- Maintain project documentation, correspondence, and comprehensive databases for monitoring and reporting.
- Assist in organizing workshops, events, and trainings, including logistics and participant coordination.
- Ensure compliance with UNDP business processes, rules, and regulations in procurement and financial procedures.
- Draft routine correspondence, support preparation of progress reports, and assist in monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Organize translation, interpretation, and transport services as required.
- Support integration of gender equality principles across all project components and maintain gender-disaggregated data.
- Document lessons learned and share best practices within UNDP knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Requirements
- Secondary education required; Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Law, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of administrative or project support experience (or 2 years with a Bachelor’s degree).
- Proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based management systems.
- Fluency in English and one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s national languages.
- Experience in international settings or with UN agencies is an advantage.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
