Job Overview

As a Project Engineer, Rivers and Dykes, you will join our engineering team to provide remote technical support for small-scale and less complex tenders, projects, and designs, as well as parts of medium to complex ones. Your role ensures that projects meet agreed requirements such as safety, quality, time, budget, legal regulations, and more.
You will have the opportunity for personal and professional growth by working on unique and complex projects in the Netherlands, including the design, construction, and maintenance of dykes and water barriers.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting Specifications and Procedures: Independently drafting specifications and procedures for the realization of tenders, projects, and designs within the set framework.
• Designing and Developing Technical Solutions: Independently designing and developing (new) technical solutions that meet all requirements.
• Feasibility and Safety Assurance: Convincing external customers/inspectors of the feasibility and safety of the proposed solution/method.
• Scope Determination and Supervision: Responsible for determining the scope of engineering work for mainly small projects.
• Progress Reporting and Deviation Identification: Responsible for progress reporting regarding small projects and/or less complex technical tenders.
• Execution Support and Improvement: Assisting and advising in the execution of tenders and projects, sometimes on location.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 5-10 years of relevant work experience at an infrastructure contractor.
• Good knowledge of CAD, QGIS, and Excel software required.
• Relevant experience with project management.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.
