Job Overview

Fairmont Royal Pavilion, an exclusive 75-room luxury resort on Barbados’ Platinum Coast, is seeking a Seasonal Cook to join its culinary team. The role involves preparing and cooking high-quality dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while maintaining the resort’s world-class standards of excellence in cleanliness, food safety, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Kitchen Management Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and industrial dishwashers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, utensils, and workstations.
  • Ensure safe food handling, storage, and sanitation practices at all times.
  • Assist with inventory control, receiving, and stocking of supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
  • Adapt to changing operational needs during busy service periods and peak seasons.

Physical Aspects of Position

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shifts.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • Exposure to heat, water, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.

Requirements

  • Cooking certification from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Food Handler’s certificate.
  • Police certificate of character.
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays.
