Job Overview
Fairmont Royal Pavilion, an exclusive 75-room luxury resort on Barbados’ Platinum Coast, is seeking a Seasonal Cook to join its culinary team. The role involves preparing and cooking high-quality dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while maintaining the resort’s world-class standards of excellence in cleanliness, food safety, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Kitchen Management Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and industrial dishwashers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, utensils, and workstations.
- Ensure safe food handling, storage, and sanitation practices at all times.
- Assist with inventory control, receiving, and stocking of supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
- Adapt to changing operational needs during busy service periods and peak seasons.
Physical Aspects of Position
- Constant standing and walking throughout shifts.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
- Exposure to heat, water, and cleaning chemicals.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
Requirements
- Cooking certification from an accredited institution.
- Valid Food Handler’s certificate.
- Police certificate of character.
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays.
