Job Overview
Roche is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused (Senior) Payroll, Time & Benefits Specialist to join its People & Culture (P&C) team in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The role is responsible for executing payroll, time management, tax, and benefits administration processes with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Execute system data maintenance and administrative activities related to payroll, time, tax, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with local and international payroll regulations and internal policies.
- Provide customer service on pay, benefits, and time-related inquiries.
- Process and reconcile payroll data for multiple pay frequencies.
- Support negotiations and compliance activities related to payroll and union processes.
- Collaborate with global and regional HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure accurate data integration.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives for HR systems and processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex payroll and time-related issues.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring service quality and data integrity.
- Promote consistent service standards aligned with Roche’s People Support Solutions (PSS) global framework.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in payroll, HR operations, or shared services (preferably within multinational environments).
- Strong understanding of local tax, social insurance, and payroll cycle management.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and formulas).
- Experience using Workday or similar HRIS platforms.
- Fluency in English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian; knowledge of Russian or Georgian is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
