    Robertson Sumner, a global leader in IT recruitment, is seeking a Technical Consultant to join its client’s team in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to play a pivotal role in shaping technical solutions that directly impact client success. You’ll partner with sales teams, engage with top-tier vendors, and deliver transformative IT solutions across cloud, cybersecurity, networking, and managed services.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities and define client requirements.
    • Design and present tailored IT solutions in managed services, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, and unified communications.
    • Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand client environments and goals.
    • Translate technical solutions into clear business value and ROI messaging.
    • Deliver demos, proposals, and presentations to both technical and executive-level stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to scope deliverables that balance technical and commercial expectations.
    • Maintain knowledge of vendor technologies (Microsoft, Cisco, Sophos) and align solutions with market trends.
    • Achieve pre-sales KPIs related to deal conversion, upsell success, and revenue growth.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in pre-sales, technical consulting, or solution design—ideally within a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
    • Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, Azure, cybersecurity, networking, and cloud solutions.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, from technical teams to C-suite executives.
    • Ability to simplify complex technical details into business benefits.
    • Skilled in proposal development, solution validation, and aligning solutions with commercial needs.
    • Previous experience in sales-aligned roles with KPIs and revenue targets.
    • Vendor certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Sophos, etc.) are highly desirable.
