Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement UNOPS’ global climate strategy and policies.
- Provide expert guidance on climate change mitigation and adaptation projects.
- Lead the integration of climate resilience across all UNOPS’ programs and operations.
- Represent UNOPS in international climate forums and partnerships.
- Oversee the development of innovative, sustainable solutions for climate challenges.
- Advise senior management on emerging climate risks and opportunities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in environmental science, climate studies, sustainable development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in climate policy, environmental management, or sustainable development, preferably within an international organization.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing complex climate programs.
- Excellent understanding of international climate frameworks and agreements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
