    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with housing and environmental health legislation.

    • Manage and supervise housing projects and programs to improve living conditions across the Torbay area.
    • Respond to public inquiries and complaints regarding environmental health and housing issues promptly and effectively.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in environmental health or housing standards, ideally at a mid-senior level (5+ years).
    • Thorough knowledge of relevant UK housing and environmental health legislation and regulations.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills for diverse audiences.
    • Ability to manage a caseload effectively, prioritize tasks, and work autonomously.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to public service and community welfare.
    • A relevant professional qualification or degree in Environmental Health is highly desirable.
