Job Overview

PATH is seeking a Health Information Systems Officer for the STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This role will contribute to improving health equity by managing and enhancing vital health information systems, ensuring effective data management, and providing technical support to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize health information systems for the STRIDES Project.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of health data within all platforms.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to project staff and partners on HIS tools and applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify system needs and implement improvements.
  • Support the development and implementation of robust data collection, analysis, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Contribute to integrating new health technologies and innovative solutions into existing systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing, implementing, or supporting health information systems.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, database systems, and data security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, multicultural team environment.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French or local languages relevant to DR Congo is an advantage.
