    Job Responsibilities

    As a Library Assistant, you will:

    • Provide friendly, helpful customer service to library users.
    • Assist patrons with borrowing, returns, and use of library technology.
    • Promote library resources, digital tools, and community programs.
    • Support events, workshops, and exhibitions within the library.
    • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and inclusive library environment.
    • Work evenings and weekends as rostered.

    Requirements

    To succeed in this role, you should have:

    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Basic knowledge of library systems, digital tools, and community engagement.
    • Flexibility to work across multiple library branches.
    • Current Working with Children Check (mandatory).
    • Relevant qualifications or experience in library services, education, or customer service (desirable).
