Job Overview

AVSI Kenya is seeking a Logistics Officer to join their team, primarily supporting projects in the Northern Region of Uganda. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of logistics operations, contributing to the timely delivery of resources for humanitarian and development initiatives.

Company Overview

AVSI is a registered NGO in Kenya since 1986, implementing projects in education, focused on vulnerable and out-of-school children, teacher trainings, school construction and vocational training; protection and family economic strengthening for orphan and vulnerable children; healthcare including HIV/AIDS; business development, social enterprises and food security. AVSI is also working in Dadaab since 2009 to serve the refugees and host communities in the area of education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing inventory and supplies for various project activities.
  • Support the transportation of goods and personnel to and from project sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics movements and stock levels.
  • Ensure strict compliance with AVSI’s logistics policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the efficient and timely delivery of project materials and resources.

  • Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a non-profit and multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping.
  • Flexibility to travel to various project locations within Uganda.
