Key Responsibilities
- Provide empathetic and recovery-focused peer support to individuals accessing mental health services.
- Share personal lived experience to inspire hope, build rapport, and promote recovery.
- Assist clients in navigating mental health services and accessing community resources effectively.
- Advocate for clients’ needs and preferences within their support and care plans.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and integrated client care.
- Promote self-advocacy and empower individuals to take an active role in their recovery journey.
Requirements
- Lived experience with mental health challenges and a personal journey of recovery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to connect authentically with others.
- Capacity to work both independently and as a valued member of a supportive team.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals.
- An understanding of mental health services and community support systems in South Australia.
