Key Responsibilities

  • Provide empathetic and recovery-focused peer support to individuals accessing mental health services.
  • Share personal lived experience to inspire hope, build rapport, and promote recovery.
  • Assist clients in navigating mental health services and accessing community resources effectively.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs and preferences within their support and care plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and integrated client care.
  • Promote self-advocacy and empower individuals to take an active role in their recovery journey.

Requirements

  • Lived experience with mental health challenges and a personal journey of recovery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to connect authentically with others.
  • Capacity to work both independently and as a valued member of a supportive team.
  • Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals.
  • An understanding of mental health services and community support systems in South Australia.
