Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental and social safeguard policies and procedures.
- Ensure project compliance with international and national safeguard standards and donor requirements.
- Conduct environmental and social impact assessments for new and ongoing conservation projects.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity building to project teams on safeguard issues.
- Manage risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to project activities.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, communities, and partners on safeguard matters.
Requirements
- Proven experience in environmental and social safeguards within the conservation or development sector.
- Strong understanding of international safeguard policies (e.g., World Bank, IFC).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working in Kenya or the broader East Africa region preferred.
