The National Sports Authority Bahamas is seeking a dedicated Security Manager to oversee and enhance the safety and security operations of the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre. This role ensures a secure environment for athletes, staff, and visitors, contributing to the successful execution of national and international sporting events.

The National Sports Authority (NSA) manages, maintains and operates the 450-acre Queen Elizabeth (Q.E.) Sports Centre. Located in the heart of Nassau on the Island of New Providence in The Bahamas, it is centrally positioned about 15 minutes from the airport and close to the prestigious Cable Beach area, as well as approximately 20 minutes from Paradise Island. Sports tourism plays a major role in the Bahamian economy and lifestyle. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures for the entire sports complex.
  • Manage, train, and supervise a team of security personnel, ensuring high standards of performance.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all surveillance systems, access control, and security technologies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure safety.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services for major events and incident response.
  • Investigate security incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in security management, preferably within large-scale event venues or public facilities.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and motivating security teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response planning.
  • Proficiency in operating and managing modern security technologies and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
