    Autronica Fire and Security AS, a global leader in fire and gas safety systems, is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join its R&D team in Trondheim, Norway.

    This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to safety-critical solutions that protect lives and assets worldwide. You’ll design and implement test strategies for both legacy and next-generation platforms, working with advanced technologies in a supportive and innovative environment.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures.
    • Design and build automated API-level test frameworks using Python.
    • Maintain and extend automated tests for existing and new modules.
    • Execute manual and automated tests to validate system performance.
    • Identify, document, and track software defects.
    • Provide feedback on testability and risks during testing phases.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards (IEC 61508, EN 54).
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Stay updated on best practices, automation tools, and safety-critical testing strategies.

    equirements

    • Proficiency in Python and automated testing.
    • Experience in Linux environments and shell scripting.
    • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and automation frameworks.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
    • Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools.
    • Ability to validate data with SQL queries.
    • Knowledge of Agile tools such as Jira and Git.
    • Awareness of safety standards (IEC 61508, EN 54) is an advantage.
