Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily stewarding operations, including dishwashing, pot washing, and general kitchen sanitation.
- Ensure strict adherence to all hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards within the kitchen and related areas.
- Supervise, train, and motivate the stewarding team, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with procedures.
- Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemicals, initiating orders as required.
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure a smooth flow of clean and sanitized items.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and work areas to maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a stewarding or similar supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and other food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to train and guide staff.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with various departments.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as needed.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining high standards.
