Key Responsibilities
- Enforce city zoning ordinances, building codes, and related regulations through investigations and inspections.
- Respond to and investigate complaints regarding potential zoning and code violations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections of properties to ensure compliance with municipal standards.
- Prepare detailed reports, document findings, and maintain accurate records of all enforcement activities.
- Communicate effectively with property owners, residents, and other stakeholders to explain regulations and resolve issues.
- Issue notices of violation, citations, and recommend corrective actions as per city policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex zoning ordinances, building codes, and municipal regulations.
- Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public and preparing reports.
- Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to operate a vehicle for field inspections.
