Key Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers in planning and delivering daily lessons, learning activities, and classroom routines for assigned age groups (early years / primary).
- Provide targeted small-group and one-to-one support to students, reinforcing lesson content and adapting tasks to individual learning needs.
- Assist with classroom management, promoting positive behaviour, safety, and an inclusive learning environment.
- Prepare learning resources, supervise activities, and maintain orderly classroom displays and materials.
- Monitor student progress, record observations, and communicate development concerns to the teacher and SEN coordinator when required.
- Support school safeguarding procedures, supervise on-site activities (recess, transitions), and assist with parental communications when directed by the lead teacher.
Requirements
- Relevant teaching assistant or early childhood education certificate/diploma.
- Practical experience supporting classroom instruction in early years or primary settings.
- Familiarity with British curriculum frameworks or equivalent international curricula.
- Competence in lesson differentiation and student-centred learning strategies.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
- Pediatric First Aid or basic first aid certification.
