Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks and strategies for M-Pesa services.
• Oversee and ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of risk professionals within the M-Pesa division.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational, financial, and security risks across the M-Pesa ecosystem.
• Collaborate effectively with product development, IT, legal, and business units to embed risk controls.
• Provide expert guidance and strategic insights on emerging threats and industry best practices in digital financial services.

Requirements

• Extensive proven experience in risk management, with a strong preference for financial services or telecommunications.
• Demonstrable leadership skills and experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
• In-depth understanding of mobile money platforms like M-Pesa and their associated operational risks.
• Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements specific to Mozambique or similar markets.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels.
