Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks and strategies for M-Pesa services. Oversee and ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of risk professionals within the M-Pesa division. Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational, financial, and security risks across the M-Pesa ecosystem. Collaborate effectively with product development, IT, legal, and business units to embed risk controls. Provide expert guidance and strategic insights on emerging threats and industry best practices in digital financial services.

Requirements

Extensive proven experience in risk management, with a strong preference for financial services or telecommunications. Demonstrable leadership skills and experience in managing and developing high-performing teams. In-depth understanding of mobile money platforms like M-Pesa and their associated operational risks. Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements specific to Mozambique or similar markets. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels.
