This role plays a critical part in ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to financial clearance.
Job Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients while providing excellent customer service.
- Accurately collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
- Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Calculate and collect patient financial responsibility.
- Refer patients to financial counselors or specialists when needed.
- Clearly explain hospital policies, billing processes, and patient rights.
- Follow organizational policies regarding patient financial liability resolution.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in patient registration, healthcare office, insurance, or revenue cycle-related role.
- Strong understanding of insurance processes and medical terminology.
- Experience with financial payment processing.
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Preferred:
- 2 years of related experience.
- Familiarity with charity care and government/non-government healthcare programs.
