Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain advanced credit risk models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights for credit product optimization.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate models into production systems.
- Monitor model performance, conduct regular validations, and recalibrate models as needed.
- Contribute to the strategic development of M-KOPA’s data science capabilities and credit strategy.
- Mentor junior data scientists and share best practices within the team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on credit risk modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R and SQL.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
