Accounts Payable Assistant

Job Overview

PUMA Group, one of the world’s leading sportswear and lifestyle brands, is looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join its finance team in Manchester. In this role, you will support daily financial operations, including invoice processing, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and supplier statement reviews.

Job Responsibilities

• Process stock, non-stock, and sample invoices, ensuring correct coding and approval
• Upload non-stock invoices onto internal approval systems and chase approvals from budget holders
• Complete intercompany recharges and reconcile relevant accounts
• Obtain intercompany balance confirmations, investigate differences, and coordinate with partners across the group
• Support with ad hoc bank reconciliations, payment processing, and cash flow forecasting
• Reconcile supplier statements at month-end, resolving mismatches and invoice/payment issues
• Handle employee expense claims in compliance with VAT and company policy
• Respond to internal and external queries related to accounts payable and finance

Requirements

• Previous experience in finance, accounting, or accounts payable roles
• Strong Excel skills and overall IT literacy
• Numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work with initiative
