    Job Overview

    EUAM RCA offers a funded traineeship for young graduates within its Political, Press and Information Section in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This full-time internship provides an opportunity to contribute to the mission’s efforts in supporting security sector reform by engaging in communications and public relations activities.

    Company Overview

    At the invitation of the President of the Central African Republic, the EUAM RCA Mission was established in December 2019 by the European Council. Deployed in July 2020 to Bangui, the mission’s mandate is to provide strategic advice to the Ministry of the Interior, Internal Security Forces, police and gendarmerie in an effort to support security sector reform in the country. EUAM RCA’s mandate is a continuation of the efforts put forth by the EU military training mission also present in the country and the mission works in conjunction with the international community. It is one of the 13 EU civilian missions around the world and fits into the European Union’s comprehensive approach to security and development in Africa.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the development and implementation of communication strategies.
    • Assist in daily press monitoring and media analysis relevant to the mission.
    • Draft internal and external communication materials, including press releases and reports.
    • Contribute to the dissemination of information through various channels.
    • Support public relations activities and event organization.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure coherent and effective messaging.

    Requirements

    • Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Communications, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in international affairs, EU policies, and security sector reform.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic team environment.
    • Good analytical, organizational, and research skills.
    • Proficiency in French or other official EU languages is an asset.
