SupaHuman AI is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves owning the design, build, and production delivery of AI systems for clients, focusing on measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Turn business problems into working systems with measurable outcomes, leading technical conversations.
• Prototype quickly, show evidence for recommended approaches, and harden successful prototypes into production.
• Build agents, LLM pipelines, retrieval systems, and associated business logic.
• Ensure changes are safe before shipping using evaluation sets, regression gates, replays, and tests.
• Own production systems, including incidents and follow-through.
• Set the engineering standard for AI work within the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years in software, data, or ML engineering, with 3+ years shipping AI to production.
• 2+ years on LLM or agent systems that real users depend on.
• Experience owning technical direction end-to-end, from architecture to production support.
• Proficiency in production Python (FastAPI, asyncio, Pydantic, PostgreSQL) and working TypeScript.
• Real experience with evals, tracing, cost per feature, guardrails, and model selection based on measured cost and quality.
• Experience building with coding agents daily and maintaining their harness.
• Comfortable leading client workshops and communicating necessary information.
