Job Overview
Jubran Coffee is seeking a skilled and passionate Coffee Roaster to join its growing team in Baghdad, Iraq. The role involves roasting premium-quality coffee, ensuring consistency across every batch, and contributing to the expansion of Iraq’s specialty coffee industry.
Job Responsibilities
- Roast coffee according to company standards and profiles
- Conduct cupping sessions and quality control checks to ensure flavor consistency
- Collaborate with the sourcing team to evaluate and recommend green coffee purchases
- Maintain roasting logs and traceability records
- Oversee maintenance schedules for roasting machines and equipment
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and cleanliness standards in the roastery
- Support product development and new coffee offerings
Requirements
- Previous experience as a coffee roaster (specialty coffee experience preferred)
- Knowledge of roasting curves, profiles, and sensory evaluation
- Familiarity with cupping protocols and quality control methods
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
- Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and record-keeping
- Passion for coffee and commitment to excellence
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
