Job Overview
Raytheon, an RTX business and a global leader in defense and aerospace technology, is seeking an experienced Sentinel Maintainer to support Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. This position provides field-level radar maintenance, diagnostics, and operational support for the U.S. Army’s Sentinel Air Defense Radar under the Life Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS) Joint Urgent Operational Need (JUON) contract. The role requires an active Secret security clearance and involves a 12-month unaccompanied deployment within the AFRICOM region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular Sentinel maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) using Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
- Conduct diagnostics, fault isolation, calibration, and repair verification for Sentinel radar systems.
- Support radar emplacement, march order, and generator coordination with U.S. Army personnel.
- Maintain inventory and records of Raytheon-provided spares and test equipment.
- Assist with operational support and mission readiness in coordination with the Site Lead and U.S. Army staff.
- Operate and maintain 400Hz generators, FMTV vehicles, and supporting systems as required.
- Provide first-level diagnostic troubleshooting and technical expertise to ensure uninterrupted radar performance.
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizens only).
- University Degree with 5+ years of radar maintenance experience; or equivalent military/technical training (MOS 94M or related).
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating or maintaining S-band/X-band radar systems (e.g., Firefinder, Sentinel).
- Ability to deploy for a minimum 12-month assignment in AFRICOM and meet overseas medical/vaccine requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work outdoors in extreme conditions (120°F+).
- CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of air defense tactical operations and military protocols.
