Caregiver

Job Overview

Summerset is one of New Zealand’s leading retirement village operators, and we’re looking for a Caregiver to join our caring and supportive team at our Manukau Village in Auckland. In this role, you’ll make a real impact by helping residents live safely, comfortably, and happily every day.

This part-time role offers 20 hours per fortnight, on a 4 days on / 4 days off roster.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and provide mealtime assistance
• Support residents with personal hygiene, such as showering and grooming
• Assist with individual care plans, including walks, exercises, and mobility support
• Help with lifestyle activities, including puzzles, games, and social events
• Provide general care and companionship to residents
• Work collaboratively with the wider care team to ensure the best outcomes for residents

Requirements

• Experience in aged care or a similar caregiving role (preferred but not essential)
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to working across morning, afternoon, and night shifts on a rostered basis
• Ability to adapt to the needs of residents with kindness and professionalism
