Civil Engineer

Gulf Cement Company is seeking a Civil Engineer to be responsible for the civil and structural engineering scope of capital projects, plant modifications and infrastructure works across cement and grinding plants. This role also involves ensuring the condition and integrity of the entire plant’s civil and structural infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Hold overall responsibility for the civil and structural infrastructure of the entire cement plant and grinding plant.
• Inspect and assess the condition of plant civil and structural infrastructure, tracking deterioration and defects.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Production teams to plan inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
• Plan, review, and supervise civil engineering works for capital projects.
• Review and validate structural design calculations and workshop drawings.
• Oversee site civil construction activities, including foundations and concrete works.
• Manage civil and structural contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable civil and structural codes, standards, and local building regulations.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of civil and structural design principles for heavy industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ACI, Eurocode, BS, ASCE) and local UAE building regulations.
• Proficiency with civil/structural design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS or similar).
• Understanding of geotechnical engineering and foundation design.
• Knowledge of construction methods, quality control, and site supervision practices.
