Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Gas Turbines/Steam Turbines and Waste Heat Boilers and associated auxiliaries.
• Perform safe start-up and shutdown of GT/ST and associated systems from the control room.
• Operate Potline rectifier transformers from the control room.
• Communicate with customers and attend to issues under supervision.
• Perform routine checks of plant equipment and monitor instrument readings.
• Assist in start-up, shut downs, and isolating plant equipment for maintenance.
• Ensure all plant equipment is operated safely and efficiently.
• Record routine parameter readings and report deviations promptly.
• Inform the Supervisor of any abnormalities and problems.
• Remain conversant with all emergency procedures and adopt safe working practices.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 years’ experience in the Operations department of a modern Power Station.
• Competency in operating specific equipment in Power Plant 1, Power Plant 2, or Power Plant 1A (3).
