Director of AI & Data Platform

OPSWAT is seeking a Director of AI & Data Platform to lead the development of an internal AI & Data platform that will power all non-engineering functions. This is a leadership role for someone who thinks like a founder, builds like an engineer, and leads like an operator.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the AI Platform & Data pillar end-to-end.
• Scale and lead a multi-team organization spanning Orchestration, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Governance.
• Build the AI-native data platform with CDC pipelines, a semantic layer for LLM consumption, lineage, and a quality framework.
• Reinvent the analytics function to move from static dashboards to agent-driven insights.
• Define and enforce architectural patterns for AI-powered internal workflows.
• Own OPSWAT’s private LLM strategy and operating model.

Requirements

• 10+ years in software, data, or platform engineering, with 6+ years leading engineering teams and at least 2 years managing managers.
• Demonstrated track record building and shipping platform products at scale.
• Deep hands-on fluency with the modern AI stack: LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks, MCP, prompt engineering, and evaluation/observability.
• Hands-on understanding of private LLM deployment and optimization.
• Experience designing hybrid AI architectures.
• Strong data engineering and analytics foundation.
• Security and governance mindset.
• Proven ability to partner with non-technical business functions.
• An innovator’s instinct paired with an operator’s discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
