Hays is seeking an Accounting / Finance Operation Manager for a global company in Tokyo, Japan. This role involves a wide range of accounting and FP&A responsibilities, supporting the business from both accounting and FP&A perspectives. You will work closely with APAC and global Finance teams, as well as domestic departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monthly and annual closing and other accounting tasks.
• Annual budget planning and monthly performance, forecast, and management report creation.
• Liaison with APAC Finance team and internal related departments.
• Bank-related operations and fixed asset management.
• Support for external audit and internal control activities.
• Support for tax filing and statutory financial statement preparation.
• Collaboration with internal related departments and partner tax accountants.
• Proactively collect necessary information and solve Finance/Accounting related issues.
• Continuous improvement of financial and accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in accounting and finance.
• Hands-on experience as the primary person responsible for monthly and annual closings.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and procedures, including US GAAP and JGAAP.
• Experience in budget planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Practical experience in external audits and internal controls.
• Ability to proactively gather information and drive problem-solving independently.
• Communication skills to smoothly collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Business-level Japanese and English proficiency.
