Job Overview
FBD Insurance, Ireland’s homegrown insurer for over 50 years, is seeking a skilled Agriculture Underwriter to join its underwriting team in Dublin. In this role, you will underwrite a range of agricultural business lines including property, liability, and agri-motor while delivering excellent service and ensuring profitable growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced underwriter with strong technical expertise and knowledge of the Irish agricultural industry to contribute to FBD’s success.
Job Responsibilities
- Underwrite agriculture business in line with agreed standards and limits to achieve financial goals.
- Handle referrals and queries within underwriting license and in accordance with company guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to ensure excellent customer service.
- Complete renewal management, complaint handling, and error management tasks in line with company procedures and CPC timelines.
- Participate in training and quality assurance activities to support high performance within the team.
- Support business development and service improvement initiatives as required.
Requirements
- Education: APA (Accredited Product Advisor) or CIP (Certified Insurance Practitioner).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as an Insurance Underwriter with a track record of high performance.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Irish agricultural industry.
- Excellent decision-making and underwriting assessment skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and underwriting applications.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Quality-focused, customer-oriented, and deadline-driven.
- Self-motivated with ambition to grow knowledge and expertise.
