Haiti, officially the Republic of Haiti (French: République d’Haïti; Haitian Creole: Repiblik d Ayiti), is a Caribbean nation located on the western part of the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. It is bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the south and west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. The capital and largest city is Port-au-Prince.
Haiti is the first independent Black republic in the world and the second independent nation in the Americas after the United States.
