Belize is a tropical country in Central America (North America), bordered by Mexico to the north and Guatemala to the west and south, with the Caribbean Sea to the east. The capital is Belmopan, while the largest city and main port is Belize City.

Belize is famed for the Belize Barrier Reef (UNESCO), turquoise cayes like Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker, and the iconic Great Blue Hole. Inland, you’ll find lush rainforests, wildlife-rich reserves, and major Maya archaeological sites such as Caracol, Xunantunich, and Lamanai.

The economy centers on tourism, agriculture (sugar, citrus, bananas), fisheries & marine products, and light industry. English is the official language, and the Belize Dollar (BZD) is pegged at 2:1 to the U.S. Dollar, which simplifies travel and business.

With welcoming multicultural communities, world-class diving, and abundant nature, Belize is attractive for students in marine biology/archaeology, hospitality professionals, and eco-conscious travelers.
