Equatorial Guinea, officially the Republic of Equatorial Guinea (Spanish: República de Guinea Ecuatorial), is a small country located on the west coast of Central Africa. It consists of a mainland region called Río Muni and several islands, including Bioko (home to the capital Malabo) and Annobón. It shares borders with Cameroon to the north and Gabon to the south and east, and has a coastline along the Gulf of Guinea.

Equatorial Guinea is one of Africa’s smallest countries but among its richest per capita, largely due to oil and gas reserves. The economy also includes timber, agriculture, and fishing. It is one of only a few African nations where Spanish is an official language, reflecting its colonial heritage under Spain.

The country’s culture blends African traditions and Spanish influences. Equatorial Guinea’s government operates as a Presidential Republic, and the local currency is the Central African CFA Franc (XAF). Tourism remains limited but is growing due to its natural beauty and islands.
