Guinea, officially the Republic of Guinea (French: République de Guinée), is a country located on the west coast of Africa. It is bordered by Guinea-Bissau and Senegal to the north, Mali to the northeast, Côte d’Ivoire to the southeast, and Liberia and Sierra Leone to the south. The Atlantic Ocean lies to the west. The capital and largest city is Conakry.

Guinea is rich in natural resources, including vast deposits of bauxite, iron ore, gold, and diamonds. The country’s economy relies heavily on mining and agriculture, with exports of bauxite making it one of the world’s leading producers. It is also known for its scenic highlands, rivers, and waterfalls, such as the Kinkon and Kambadaga Falls.

The official language is French, and the national currency is the Guinean Franc (GNF). Guinea’s culture reflects a blend of ethnic traditions, vibrant music, and cuisine, making it an important part of West Africa’s cultural identity.
